We have the pleasure to announce to you that KYOWA HAKKO BIO CO., LTD., Tokyo, Japan (KHB), KYOWA HAKKO KIRIN’s Biochemical affiliate, reorganizes its European whole owned entities effective as of April 1st, 2009 with the merger of KYOWA HAKKO EUROPE GmbH (KHE) and DAIICHI FINE CHEMICAL EUROPE GmbH (DFE).

This reorganization is the result of the acquisition of Daiichi Fine Chemical Co., Ltd, Takaoka, Japan by KHB,

As an acquiring entity of the merger, KHE will succeed the whole DFE activity and maintain its business function as “Daiichi Fine Chemical Division”, one of KHE’s divisions. KHE will be appointed as a sole distributor of DFK’s products such as Vitamins, including “D-Calcium Pantothenate” and “Dexpanthenol” for the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food industry in EMEA countries. The Daiichi Fine Chemical Division of KHE will also continue their distribution function for products of other principals besides DFK.

We strongly believe in the synergy between both companies to further develop our market on a more extensive basis and commit ourselves to provide the customers with the same highest quality products and services as before. In addition, we will promote the efficiency of office management as well.
